The institution has always been an icon of quality medical education in this part of the world and, after becoming a university, is expected to perform even better. The elevation will be a milestone in the history of medical education in Pakistan. I also take this opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the management of the institution in its smooth transition fro a college to a university.

The graduates of King Edward Medical University are serving the ailing humanity all over the globe. By the grace of Almighty Allah they have excelled in the medical field and brought laurels to their alma mater as well as their motherland. This is the real tribute to the institution.

I wish success to the Vice Chancellor and members of the faculty of King Edward Medical University and complement them on the publication depicting its history, facilities and vision for the future.

I feel honoured to send a Messages on the occasion of publishing of First Book of the King Edward Medical University (formerly King Edward Medical College), Lahore. Our long cherished dream has come true. This idea was conceived as far back as early 70’s propagated thro three decades and finally realized in 2006 with untiring efforts of the students and members of the faculty.

The College has a very rich heritage of producing outstanding medical graduates who take pride in serving the humanity at par with the very best. I hope that with the elevation to the status of a University, we will not only emulate this but exceed it as well.

The faculty and the Board of Management are aware of their new responsibilities in the future, as they have to face new challenges on the national and international horizons with continuous advances in the field of medicine and its allied specialties.

This College has been the Premier Institution of the Subcontinent, I hope and pray that we are able to maintain its status among medical university as well.
