Brief History & Introduction

West Medical Ward is unit-II of medical floor of Mayo Hospital, Lahore, and was established in 1871. It has been headed by many professors and now it is run under kind supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Zafar Ullah Khan.

This unit consists of two wards, male ward and a female ward.
Male Ward : Male ward has 24 regular beds and 4-6 extension beds according to the number of patients. Also, there is a separate isolation room in male ward having 4 regular beds.

Female Ward : Female ward has 16 regular beds and about 4-6 extension beds according to the number of patient.

In male ward, 10 beds have central oxygen facility; beside this there are about 5 oxygen cylinders in each ward. Other medical gadgets in west medical ward are:

2. Cardiac Monitor

3. Pulse Oximeter

4. E.C.G. machine

5. Respirator

6. Cardiac Defibrillator

Services

• Patients admission, discharge and expiry record is maintained on register and their management and daily progress notes are maintained on separate charts of each patient. There charts are kept with us after discharge / expiry of patients.
